March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Governor Josh Shapiro has proclaimed March 2025 to be Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! People with developmental disabilities come from diverse racial, ethnic, educational, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. They are integral to our communities and workforces, and possess a wide range of skills, perspectives, and abilities that have often been overlooked in years past.
Due to the dedication and hard work of many of these individuals and their families and/or support structures, the Commonwealth has been moving in a positive direction toward inclusivity, accessibility, and awareness. We plan to continue our own contributions toward this goal, and we hope to see even more positive changes in the future of Pennsylvania. Thank you to Governor Shapiro for acknowledging and celebrating individuals with developmental disabilities and their value in our communities! 💙
